Your Body at 30 Is Not Broken — It's Just Different

Somewhere around 30, my body stopped cooperating with the rules I'd followed for a decade. The diet that kept me lean at 25 made me bloated at 30. The workout routine that energized me started exhausting me. I gained weight in places I'd never gained weight before. And I spent an embarrassing amount of time googling "is this normal at 30" before accepting that yes, it is, and no, you're not broken.

What's Actually Happening

Your metabolism starts shifting in your late twenties. Muscle mass begins declining, hormones fluctuate, and your body becomes less forgiving of the things you got away with at 22. This isn't a failure — it's biology. The problem isn't your body changing. The problem is trying to force your 30-year-old body to behave like your 20-year-old one.

What Works Now

Strength training over cardio. Protein over restriction. Sleep over hustle. Recovery over punishment. The women who thrive physically in their thirties are the ones who stop fighting their bodies and start listening to them. Your body at 30 isn't worse — it just needs different things. Give it what it's asking for and it will show up for you.
